Stepping Up To The Challenge For An Automotive Safety Leader

The Challenge

RK’s Customer is a global leader in automotive safety equipment. One RK customer’s CNC machine has a maintenance panel that is eight feet off the ground and not easily accessible. In need of a stair platform system, they contacted Phoenix Mecano to design a solution that was accessible from both sides and at the correct height for a maintenance employee to service the machine.

The Solution

Starting with just a basic sketch, our design team worked closely with the customer and created a custom Phoenix Mecano Stairworks platform that met all of their requirements. The design was completed in SolidWorks and engineering drawings were presented for customer approval.

The Result

The customer has purchased three Stairworks Platforms from us. Each platform was cut and kitted in-house at our facility and assembled at the customer’s location, which helped ensure the units were installed safely and efficiently.
